Sundari (inspired by Green Vine Snake) -

Inspiration

A slender green beauty camouflaged deftly in the trees. More enticing than the vine snake is the snake wine which is when these snakes are drowned in rice wine and infused with other herbs. A shot of this exotic liquor promises to work on your longevity and virility. I have not tried it but. However, the wine snake that inspired me had red pupils which is why the red tassels. The drape is svelte and youthful oozing charm and chutzpah.

Blouse Piece: Included with the saree of length 90-100 cm. The blouse worn in the photographs is only for styling.

Description

Fabric:

The fabric of the saree is a soft flowing blended silk with luster and sheen. Blended silk means we have combined two types of silk fabrics to achieve the final composition. But both are pure silk fabrics.

Printing:

The motifs are screen printed on the fabric. Screen printing is a method in which ink is applied directly to the surface to be printed (substrate). The image to be printed is photographically transferred to a very fine fabric (the screen) such that the non-printing areas are blocked off and the fabric serves as a stencil. The ink is wiped across the screen to pass through the unblocked pores and reach the substrate. For each color to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated. It is tedious and painstakingly done by hand.
