Inspiration
Somehow, I adore this saree. Like it’s name, Mor (peacock), the saree lifts you from this world to another of beauty, pride, rain and dance. This is a hand painted piece done by a Gond artist in his own style. Gond style painting is a tribal art of the Gond (Deccan) region of India. It is mostly ‘line work’ to convey a sense of movement to still images. Dots and dashes are added to adorn the theme. Gond art captures animals and nature very well in their true colours. The theme of the saree is of dancing peacocks and nurturing their peachicks.
The saree is a soft pure blend of silk with block prints on it. The painting is confined to the saree border and does not interfere with the fall of the fabric. Sashay in this vibrant beauty and you effortlessly own a grand stand at the event.

Description
Fabric:
This fabric is a blend of Mulberry Raw Silk, Tussar and Matka silk. It is 100% silk. The blend makes the fabric light, durable and characteristically different from any of its component yarns.
Printing:
The motifs are hand painted on the fabric. The paints used are acrylic colours with appropriate medium to protect the paint from cracking and peeling. However if fabric paint is exposed to direct heat like iron or strong sunlight it will crack.
