Inspiration
The shaada shari laal par (white saree with red border) re created in one of Bengal’s indigenous Dhakai weave. The motifs are inspired by Alpana (rangoli) done in Bengali homes to decorate the floors and stairways on special occasions. Traditionally a white saree with red border is draped on the last day of the Durga puja called Dashami/Dushera.
It is a tradition dear to everyone who likes to dress up in ‘Dashamir Shaaj’ (Dressed for Dushera).
