The shaada shari laal par (white saree with red border) re created with a contemporary tempo. The block prints are inspired by Alpana (rangoli) done in Bengali homes to decorate the floors and stairways on special occasions. Traditionally a white saree with red border is draped on the last day of the Durga puja called Dashami/Dushera.
It is a tradition dear to everyone who likes to dress up in ‘Dashamir Shaaj’ (Dressed for Dushera).

A progressive journey in textile of interwoven yarns . A warp and weft combination of Tussar and Moonga silk with a broad woven gold border.
Printing:
Block printed by hand. A combination of blocks have been used across the saree. The body of the saree has a geometric blocks. The border has traditional blocks inspired by Bengali Rangoli, called ‘Alpana’ patterns. The pallav of the saree has a combination of ‘Alpana’ and geometric blocks.
