Fun Facts
Fact 1: I was christened by the European farmers who prayed to Virgin Mary for sending me on Earth to rescue their crops from pests and so I did. Lovingly they called me “Beetle of Our Lady”.
Fact 2: Nasa send four of us into space with aphids (small sap sucking insects) to see how aphids would escape in zero gravity. The mission was complete and we survived the microgravity environment and ate up all the aphids. We could qualify as astronauts. Experiment was called ‘Ladybugs in Space.’
Facts 3: We are happy in different habitats including grasslands, forest, cities, suburbs and river banks. We are adaptable and adjusting.
Fact 4: We know you admire us because we are a family of pretty, colourful and graceful things but our markings tell a predator – We taste terrible. We secrete some foul fluids!
Fact 5: Though you love our delicate, curvy bodies we can devour up to 5,000 insects in our lifetime. We are the non- fussy omnivores with big appetites but flat bellies.

Description
Fabric:
The prints bloom in an altogether artistic appeal on the pure organic cotton (100% cotton), grown in India. Organic cotton is regular cotton that is grown organically without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers or pesticides aside from the ones allowed by the certified organic labeling. The drape is light and comfortable. This cotton hugs you softly. It might benefit from starching after 4-5 wears but starching is not necessary at all.
Printing:
The motifs are screen printed on the fabric. Screen printing is a method in which ink is applied directly to the surface to be printed (substrate). The image to be printed is photographically transferred to a very fine fabric (the screen) such that the non-printing areas are blocked off and the fabric serves as a stencil. The ink is wiped across the screen to pass through the unblocked pores and reach the substrate. For each color to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated. It is tedious and painstakingly done by hand.
This saree is very captivating. I shared it on twitter. There were queries but they backed out after asking the price. But once you touch and feel you understand that it is justified.
I love this distinct design. Lady Bug has been my childhood love and when this Saree was gifted by my sis in law to me I was elated. The Saree feels so soft on the skin that it is just a delight wearing it and the design looks fascinating.
