Inspiration

Dyutih is beauty in Sanskrit. This saree has an ethereal appeal to all.  It has colours, patterns, rural art forms, tradition and finesses on a pure silk blend. It is embellished by hand painted motifs in traditional Madhubani style. The artist has poured his love and craft on this piece for days and nights together.

Madhubani painting is said to be one of the most famous tribal art forms of India, practiced by people in the region of Mithila in Bihar. The lower border has typical themes of fishes, faces, patterns. The upper border has birds. The fish symbol is often used to represent fertility and good luck while birds and peacocks are often used to symbolize religion, love and romance.

Blouse Piece: Included with the saree. The blouse worn in the photographs is only for styling. The last 2 pictures in the photographs are of the blouse piece which is hand painted.

Maintenance: Dry Clean. Do not iron directly on the painted surface. Iron by keeping either a cotton fabric on the painted surface or on the reverse side of the painted surface. Rest of the fabric can be ironed normally on silk setting.

Description

Fabric:

This fabric is a blend of Mulberry Raw Silk, Tussar and Matka silk. It is 100% silk. The blend makes the fabric light, durable and characteristically different from any of its component yarns.

Printing:

The motifs are hand painted on the fabric. The paints used are acrylic colours with appropriate medium to protect the paint from cracking and peeling. However if fabric paint is exposed to direct heat like iron or strong sunlight it will crack.
