Inspiration
Dhakis is one of the ancient cultural groups of Bengal. They are our traditional drummers and heart beat of our very special festival Durga Puja . The cacophony of their drum rolls are infectious in its joy, beats and zest. Loose yourself in the rhythmic and mystical sound of the Dhak !
This block print is inspired by every Bengali’s first text book of stories and poems called ‘Shahaj Path’. These books have a wonderful compilation of images all done by linoleum block prints by artist Nandalal Bose.
