Inspiration

Remember the words of a great Jedi Master: “Size maters not. Look at me; Judge me by my size do you?” We must be careful not to underestimate others or ourselves based only on old notions of what is weak and what is strong. Such is the bamboo – stands tall, strong, beautiful and for long.In oriental culture Bamboo is a symbol of beauty, moral integrity and loyalty. It also stands as an example of loneliness and elegance, amongst others. The print on the saree is inspired by Chinese and Japanese themes. Bamboo is a symbol of good luck and part of the New Year celebrations in Japan and China.Like a bamboo: Bend but don’t break – be flexible yet firmly rooted. Remember what looks weak is strong. Be always ready. Unleash your power to spring back. Find wisdom in emptiness. Commit to continuous growth. Express usefulness through simplicity.

This saree is an expression of your elegance and strength, the kind we don’t speak much about but wear silently and gracefully. The flowing fabric makes it easy to drape and the length of bamboos lends height.

Description

Fabric:

100% pure silk and 100% vegan or animal-friendly silks that no worms are killed while producing them. Modal silk threads are not obtained from worm-woven cocoons; they are human-made fibers. Modal silk is a cellulosic fabric based on beech tree wood pulp. We spin beech wood pulps to turn them into soft threads and then weave them to make the modal silk fabric. This silk is breathable and absorbent and flows like water on your skin.

Printing:

The detailed design and the vibrancy of the shades can only be achieved by quality digital prints.

Digital textile printing begins with the art work. We first create an image either by hand work or directly on the computer and convert it to a digital format.  Digital textile printing uses large scale inkjet technology and dye (instead of ink).We first pretreat the fabric with liquid solutions that prepare it to accept the dye and better absorb the color. Then the fabric is fed through the printer, which sprays the dye onto the textile with tiny droplets. The final step is fixing the fabric, a process that ensures the permanency of the design. Depending on the type of textile and type of dye, fixing may involve steam, dry heat, or pressure or all a combination of these processes.
